Rapid Write Response: Paper Cut
12 pieces of exceptional new writing in response to Paper Cut by Andrew Rosendorf.
Paper Cut made it to its second day of technical rehearsals before our enforced closure. Our recent Zoom recording of Andrew’s play allowed us to turn a frustrating situation into something truly fantastic. Over two hundred writers booked themselves up to stream the show and take part in the pre-show Q&A sessions. We received a record number of submissions for a Rapid Write Response - an astonishing total of 81 scripts.
A bit about Paper Cut, the play which inspired these pieces:
“It’s the end of the Earth. And if I’m gonna fucking die, I at least want to die knowing I loved.”

"I don't mind hating a play. I really, really mind being bored by a play." GOLD.
Sam Frenchum is a racist, he called me a "mudman" on twitter, English slang for white pak*. Then he tried to deny it only to have a list he created on his twitter feed called "Mudluds" that was dedicated to being racist towards black people.
About 2 months.

Thank you guys for posting this video on youtube. I’m gonna use it in my presentation next week.
Excellent points. Agree totally that a play should be an emotional experience.
Great interview and very true. Helpful to me. Thnx
Sounds American
We went to see 'And Then Come the Nightjars' last night North Wall Arts Centre in Oxford last night. It was a brilliant production, great script, really good set, and an amazing cast. I was particularly amazed by the way in which the banter between the two men evolved in a way that felt extraordinarily true to life. A testament to the quality of Bea Roberts as the writer and tot he cast - the two actors David Fielder and Nigel Hastings. Don't let the outline of the plot put you off, fundamentally this play offers enormous insights into the strength and character of the human spirit. Go and see it, you will love it.
Looking forward to it !
Utterly brilliant! Wish I could see it! :-)
